A New Year has started,
It ended as we partied.
A new one just begun,
I hope you have fun.
Dancing all night,
The drinkers will fight.
Another year passed,
Resolutions won’t last.
Time to kiss lovers,
Sisters and mothers,
Shake hands with the men,
Wish luck every one of them.
A year of inspiration,
To strengthen a nation.
A vision of peace,
Offering love and release.
A chance to remember,
The passing December.
The people now gone,
Yet with us all along
Friends we have made,
Other friendships decayed.
A year of events,
Retired parents.
