A creature from another land,
Taking money from your hand.
Living in homes built for you,
Hatred grew and grew and grew.
It crept in and changed you life,
Took money, food and caused you strife.
It made you ill and many cried,
It’s now set your life aside.
But antibodies you all had,
Your treatment had made us sad.
But we are mighty, strong and true.
We are the army to see you through.
We live in homes of worn brick,
We work in in places, that make us sick.
But for you we wage a war,
Many of us have seen before.
The only difference; now you say
To all of us hip hip hurray.
“We who you say took you jobs,
Fight for you at so much cost.”
We were the antibodies hidden from sight,
We were the ones to end the night.
After we have won the fight,
We were the antibodies hidden in plain sight.

These poems have been written for times in my life that have caused me to seek a calming resolution for an ocean where waves swirl and thoughts become overwhelming. If you choose to read any, thank you! Each poem is capturing an in the moment thought. Please leave a comment, especially if you really like a poem as I am looking to enter one in a compettiton.
