Broken promises
It’s amazing how quickly,
We break promises we made.
The year we said no more,
As we watched Caroline fade.
The promise to be kind,
Seems a dull memory now.
Yet only 2 months ago,
A promise many vowed.
Time has passed strangely,
Since the passing of a star,
The promises we made,
Didn’t get us very far.
In our own isolation,
It should be easy to see.
The feeling you are alone,
Needs to beaten quickly.
Witches died in Salem,
Many many years ago.
Set up by the people,
Who claimed to love them so.
The method of deciding,
All these women’s fates.
Was drowning them in water,
Bound, unable to escape.
So in a year of kindness,
How well have you done?
Casting a dark shadow,
Over essentials of someone.
I am not a judge,
I do not tell you.
I simply pose the question,
How well did you do?
